In retaliation, Xadia sends a group of elven assassins out to assassinate both King Harrow and his son, Prince Ezran. The Puzzle House is the third graphic novel of The Dragon Prince. The story is set years before the events of Book One and revolves around young Rayla. Bloodmoon Huntressīloodmoon Huntress is the second graphic novel of The Dragon Prince. The short story revolves around the young Rayla and Runaan, who seek a lunabloom as a present for Ethari's birthday. Lunabloom: A Story from the Silvergrove is a side story published through the official website of The Dragon Prince.

It is currently unrevealed whether the prequel will be told as a movie, series or a graphic novel. The Orphan Queen is a prequel revolving around the character of the same name.

Callum's trial by fire in Season 2 is equally impactful and comes in the form of a lovely young sorceress named Claudia. The obvious comparison here is the trials that Luke Skywalker faced when confronted by Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. As Callum learns more about Primal Magic, he's also tempted by Dark Magic. Rayla - still a dynamic character - takes a backseat in Season 2 to allow Callum to go through his own compelling character transformation. Ezran's struggle in coping with the responsibilities of taking care of Zym gives him a sense of importance in the story that was lacking in Season 1. In the same vein as Nancy Cartwright's portrayal of Bart Simpson, you quickly forget that she's not actually a young boy. Sasha Rojen's voice-over performance as the young prince is excellent. Ezran acts as Zym's surrogate father, and his attempts to teach the inexperienced dragon to fly are quite amusing. Zym also makes a good companion for Ezran, who gets more to do in Season 2. The animators make it difficult to not instantly fall in love with him, especially since he's the cutest baby dragon ever. On the dragon front, Zym is the main attraction this time around. Creators Aaron Ehasz (Avatar: The Last Airbender) and Justin Richmond (Uncharted 3) are in no rush to divulge all of their mythological secrets, leaving just the right amount of "I want to know more" after each episode closes. While the fearsome elven warriors don't say much, their imposing looks and skill on the battlefield are thrilling to watch whenever they're fighting humans. The Sunfire Elves are especially cool - complete with flaming swords and glowing lava-colored skin. The brief, but effective nine-episode season builds upon the mythology established in Season 1, with the addition of compelling new dragons and elves. And with the newborn Storm Dragon prince - Zym - joining their fellowship, the stakes are much higher. Season 2 is no different in that respect, as the adventures of Ezran, Callum, and Rayla get more epic and more dangerous on their journey to Xadia.
